JBone & ZMan,
Congrats guys! I am really curious how you both are feeling. Up for "The Hill" anytime soon? Just curious. I really hope you are both feeling great and are reveling in the joy of finishing the race. I am so glad you will be at Cowtown. Denise

All I have to say is THANK GOD for the "hill". No question it prepped us well for ol' Austin. Trust me I was thinking of hidden road a time or two, I think J bone and I met "the hill's" entire family! They all live in Austin and we're sooo happy to see us! Aside from my IT band issues....just the normal leg soreness is all I feel now, nothing worse than when we ran 19 or 20. Trust me, after a shower and 2 days of good rest, all's well and you're ready for the next one! The desire is already back for yours truly, it'll be just a matter of taking care of my new found knee injury :).
ReplyDeleteThere's no question you all will be ready for the marathon. Once you guys break 20 miles it's all mental, I smiled more after 20 than I did when I was just getting started.
It's all put into perspective once you get your medal, can't wait for everyone to get this same feeling!

ReplyDeletesoooo... does this mean you're up to signing up for OKC? Get that IT thing taken care of and go for it again in April!
If you all can recommend a good PT to get this IT band issue to rest I'm all ears ....seriously! I've been all over the web but I'll take a referral over anything.
ReplyDeleteI saw some represenatives for the OKC marathon at the expo for Austin, my wife is considering the 1/2 as well
ZMan, you can see Dr. Mulhall or Rob over at Active Spine and Sports, University and Collinwood. (Near the big car wash behind Panera's.)
ReplyDeleteThey're great, take most insurance, and specialize working with athletes. They'll get you fixed up! Hope you're feeling 100% soon, and give yourself some time to heal!

Congratulations guys! I understand that the Austin course is pretty tough....I know there are plenty of hills down there. Take some well-deserved time off and be ready to train again (that's injury and fatigue free) before making new plans. Great job!
