Lazy Weekend Mileage
or was that just me? I ended up taking a completely low-mileage cutback week this week, mostly because of the muggy hot weather (and the tamales and Christmas cookies were partly to blame, too, I'm sure). I ended up running 8.5 miles around my neighborhood this morning, when the temps were just at 30-some-odd, which is too cold for Jan, but perfect for me. Total time (not counting a water stop at my mother-in-laws' house since all the water fountains are shut down for the winter) was just at 90 minutes, for an average pace of 10:35. What did everyone else do this weekend?

Merry Christmas!
Howdy, all! Hopefully everyone is safe at their destinations if traveling, or tucked into bed waiting for Santa. Thought I'd post a photo of what I look like when it's not o'dark thirty and I haven't just run a few miles. I'd love to see everyone else's photos so we can see all the folks we talk about on the trail but maybe haven't met yet.
Love the blog, Jan. I think it will be a great idea if we can keep it active and post not only running anecdotes and training meet-up plans, but little things about ourselves, too.
ORN (Obligatory Running Note): 5 miles this morning (give or take) around the park in South Arlington. Went to the grocery store and couldn't believe the great weather we had, plus I had to make sure to earn some tamales tonight! Plan to run tomorrow outside again, if the weather holds like it did today.

Cowtown Soul: New Blog
Hi, and welcome to Cowtown Soul! This blog is currently a work in progress, and if you received an invitation to view it, you are among the elite few... Once it's up and running, more will be invited to participate.
The purpose of this site is to simply share whatever you wish in terms of training for a Fort Worth Cowtown event: frustrations, success stories, questions, insights, irritations, whatever. Just keep it (relatively) clean, and please do not use this site to make personal attacks. Feel free to voice whatever you need to say, but keep in mind you are speaking to an audience. Use this site to recruit others for a spontaneous run, or to make plans other than running. We're a well-rounded group so we encourage outside socializing.... The creator of this blog strongly supports Fort Worth Running Company, but diversity is a good thing, so if you have a friend you'd like to add who isn't aware of FWRunCo, run it by the moderator and it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for your patience. If you try to post and it doesn't work yet, please come back! Settings and security are still being adjusted. In the meantime, have a happy holiday and a fantastic 2009!
