Cowtown volunteers...

Yup, that's right.
The Jbone and I (assuming no conflicts with work) will be one of the smiling faces to greet you all at the finish line! Only caveat is we'll need you across the finish line by 10 30am :)!!! Just kidding, we'll give you till 11 but after that we gots ta go....The Flying Saucer beckons 2 of it's most loyal customers.

By the way, the description of our volunteer role we'll be providing first line assistance to runners by distributing medals, heat sheets, & providing direction to water & medical tent.

  1. This is great! Hopefully, though, nobody will need heat sheets *or* the medical tent that day. You do realize you have to wear your usual gear or we won't recognize you!

Have you started checking weather for Austin yet? More importantly, have you found a place in Austin for your post-race celebration yet?

  2. I'm cautiously optimistic that the weather will change! There was a forecast for RAIN on sunday but I'll begin to worry if on Friday it says the same thing.....As far as post marathon events, getting back to my hotel room is priority # 1!!! Afterwords, some good bbq either from Lockhart, tx or Driftwood, tx is in order (both 20-30 min from Austin). Maybe an Austin flying saucer visit is in order as well!!

I'll certainly post my post Austin marathon report probably by Tuesday..however until then everyone needs to do their Anti-rain dance for me through to get me through Sunday!

  4. ZMan, you and Jbone will rock no matter what the weather. Don't worry about it.

Volunteering at the finish line is fantastic!! That's really great of you guys to do that. :) I don't think I'll have a 4 hr. Ultra, but if I can crawl when I'm done, you can bet I'll show up at the Saucer. Hopefully everyone from our group will! That will be a fun party, and well-deserved by all.

I'll start doing my anti-rain dance tonight. No worries. Get some rest this week, stay relaxed and hydrated, and just enjoy the whole experience!
